The Lavender Landing was created as a space where healing, creativity, and connection come together in meaningful ways. We believe that growth happens best in environments that feel safe, compassionate, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique story. Our work is rooted in a whole-person approach to wellness. We recognize that emotional, physical, relational, and creative experiences are deeply connected, and effective support honors all of these dimensions. Whether you are seeking professional counseling or participating in community-based creative programs, you are welcomed here with care and intention.
How It Works

Our clinical services are grounded in evidence-based practices and ethical standards. We offer professional counseling that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to each individual’s needs. Services may include individual therapy, holistic and somatic approaches, animal-assisted interventions, and telehealth options. We strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel supported, empowered, and respected throughout their healing journey.
Lavender Landing was created with a simple goal: to make meaningful, accessible, and human-centered support available to the people who need it most. While our current services offer therapy, coaching, and creative wellness support, this is only the beginning.
This vision reflects a belief that healing does not happen in one way or one setting.By creating a space that integrates clinical care, experiential approaches, and connection to nature, Lavender Landing aims to offer services that are both effective and deeply human.

Our long-term vision is to expand beyond traditional office-based care and develop a space that allows for deeper, more holistic forms of healing.
Lavender Landing is working toward establishing a land-based, animal-assisted practice situated on approximately 25 acres. This space will be intentionally designed to support a range of therapeutic and experiential services in a natural, grounded environment.
Access to quality mental health care remains limited in many rural and underserved areas. Barriers such as transportation, provider shortages, and lack of specialized services continue to impact individuals and families across our region. This vision is rooted in a commitment to:
Expanding access to care in rural communities
Offering alternative and experiential therapeutic approaches
Creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and connected to the natural environment

I’m Jena Yarbrough, a Licensed Professional Counselor and holistic mental health practitioner based in Mississippi. I work from a whole-person, whole-life perspective, honoring the connection between mind, body, environment, and lived experience. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with experiential and creative therapies, including CBT, DBT, somatic work, narrative therapy, art and music therapy, nature-based practices, and animal-assisted interventions. Alongside my co-therapists, which include Beck the dog, a cat, and several rodents. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen.I am deeply committed to ethical practice, accessibility, and ongoing professional development. I follow the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics and CACREP-aligned standards, and I continually seek opportunities to grow in my clinical knowledge and skills.Through The Lavender Landing, I aim to offer more than therapy alone. This is a space for healing, creativity, community connection, and personal growth—where individuals are supported in becoming more fully themselves at their own pace.
Our animal co-therapists help create a calming, grounding, and welcoming environment for healing.
The practice will be presenting at the American Mental Health Counselors Association Annual Conference in June, contributing to ongoing conversations in the field of mental health and experiential therapy.

Lavender Landing currently offers secure virtual therapy sessions while we work toward a permanent in-person space.
